AI automation for New Zealand businesses, at fixed prices

Workflow automation for NZ businesses that run on Xero and job software. I am Renzo Demartini, a Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) based in Canberra. I build every workflow myself, remotely, at a fixed price in Australian dollars with no GST charged, and a person on your team approves what matters.

Fixed price, AUD, no GST charged.

What is different about working with me

There are good automation firms in New Zealand. If you are comparing, these are the three things I do differently.

  • Fixed prices, published Every build has a fixed price and a usual time frame on this page and on the pricing page. You know the number before the first call.
  • A person approves Rules check the numbers, AI drafts where it helps, and a person on your team approves money and anything a customer sees. How the safeguards work
  • A Chartered Accountant builds it I am a Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ), MBA and Xero certified, and I design, build and test every workflow myself, from the audit to hand-over.

Prices in Australian dollars, with no GST charged

  • Workflow Audit (credited to a build signed within 30 days)A$9905 working days
  • Invoice CheckA$3,9002–3 weeks
  • Enquiry and Quote Follow-upA$4,9003 weeks
  • KPI ReportA$4,9003 weeks
  • Job Profit ReportA$5,9003–4 weeks
  • Supplier Bill ApprovalFrom A$3,9002–3 weeks

What this means for a New Zealand business, in plain words:

  • The price is in Australian dollars The amount on my invoice is the AUD price shown here. What it costs you in New Zealand dollars depends on the exchange rate on the day you pay, and on any fees your bank charges.
  • No GST is added Works Better is not registered for GST, so the invoice shows no GST.
  • How you treat the invoice is for your accountant How a service bought from Australia goes into your own GST return or your accounts is a tax question, and I don't give tax advice. Ask your accountant.

You pay the AUD invoice by card, through a payment link. Your card provider may charge a currency conversion fee.

The same terms apply as in Australia: written acceptance criteria, a 50% deposit, 50% on hand-over and 30 days of fixes. A workflow across your own mix of tools is a custom build, from A$9,500. Running costs (software and AI usage) are estimated in your audit, before you commit to a build.

Xero automation for NZ businesses, with NZ GST

Every build works in your own Xero organisation, with the tax rates already set up in it.

Xero's New Zealand edition comes with the commonly used GST rates already set up, and it files GST returns to Inland Revenue. NZ GST is charged at 15%. A workflow I build doesn't replace any of that. It writes drafts and records into your Xero organisation using the tax rates you already have, and it doesn't change your rates or file your return.

Where a workflow touches tax, the rule goes into the written acceptance criteria. For example, Invoice Check checks that each invoice carries the tax treatment you expect. When it doesn't, the invoice waits for a person instead of going through.

The job software NZ businesses run

Xero's New Zealand app store lists a range of job software for trades and service businesses, including Fergus, Tradify, ServiceM8, Simpro, AroFlo and NextMinute. Fergus, for one, describes itself as built for Kiwi tradies.

I have first-hand work with Simpro: I have fixed Simpro-to-Xero sync problems for clients and connected n8n to the Simpro API. For any other job software, I check in the audit what its built-in Xero connection already does, and what its API and your plan allow. If a build isn't possible, or the connection you already have does the job, the audit says so.

Two hours apart, for most of the year

New Zealand standard time is 12 hours ahead of UTC, and Canberra's is 10, so New Zealand is usually two hours ahead of me: 11 am in Auckland is 9 am in Canberra. Both change clocks for daylight saving and both change back on the first Sunday in April. New Zealand moves forward a week earlier, on the last Sunday in September, so for that week the gap is three hours.

The audit call and reviews are booked in the hours that overlap. The rest of the work doesn't depend on being online at the same time: you get written updates, and approvals happen in your own systems. I work the same way with businesses in Canberra, where I am based.

Paid work: KPI automation for two named businesses

For each business I built a Jotform KPI form, Airtable for employee details and the KPI calculations, and n8n to send the emails and write the final KPI back. It used to take about 4 hours each month at each business, and countless emails. Now it's a click of a button: the manager submits the review and the rest is automatic. Not measured: revenue and financial return. The 4 hours is time saved, not cash saved. Hours saved and dollars saved are counted apart. Beside them are the running costs: optional support from A$350 a month, and software and AI usage paid to the providers. Running costs (software and AI usage) are estimated in your audit, before you commit to a build. The KPI Report build

About Renzo

The same approach runs an agentic finance system I built: 30 agents, about 10,000 automated tests, and a person approves every money decision.

Questions from New Zealand businesses

Do you visit New Zealand clients?

No. Every engagement runs remotely: the audit call, reviews and hand-over. The prices are the same as for Australian clients.

Will the workflow use NZ GST?

It uses the tax rates in your own Xero organisation, which for a New Zealand organisation are NZ GST rates. Any rule about tax goes into the written acceptance criteria before I build.

How do I account for an invoice with no GST from Australia?

That is a question for your accountant. I don't give tax advice. I can tell you what the invoice shows: a fixed price in Australian dollars, with no GST.

Is our data safe?

Yes. The audit is read-only, and we agree that access before any work starts. Builds run in accounts in your name, so your data stays in your systems. Claude runs through business API access, where your data isn't used to train models, and every AI service is named in the written scope before work starts.
