The free fit check by email comes first. The A$990 audit is the next step, and it is credited in full to a build you sign within 30 days. If you build, the audit costs you nothing extra. The report is yours whether or not you build.

What every build includes
On every build
- Written acceptance criteria. We agree in writing what ‘working’ means before I start.
- 30 days of fixes. After delivery, I fix problems against those criteria for 30 days.
On the audit
Credited in full to a build signed within 30 days. If nothing is worth building, the report says so, and it is yours to keep.
How builds are paid
50% deposit and 50% on hand-over. Custom builds are paid in two milestones.
What is not in the price
- Software subscriptions. Your job software, Xero or MYOB, Airtable, Jotform, n8n, Zapier and any other tools are paid to those providers.
- AI and model usage costs. These are paid directly by you. I identify them in the written scope before you commit, so there are no surprises. Running costs (software and AI usage) are estimated in your audit, before you commit to a build.
- Work outside the agreed scope. If you want more, we agree it in writing first.
- Support after 30 days. Ongoing monitoring and changes are covered by an optional support plan.
Hours saved and dollars saved are counted apart. Beside them are the running costs: optional support from A$350 a month, and software and AI usage paid to the providers. Running costs (software and AI usage) are estimated in your audit, before you commit to a build.

Paid to the providers, not to me: your software subscriptions and AI usage. Your audit estimates them before you commit to a build, because they depend on the tools you already run.
The hours you save are counted separately from the dollars. Neither is promised until the audit has measured your workflow.
GST and currency
All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD). No GST is charged: Works Better is not registered for GST. The price you see is the price you pay.
New Zealand businesses are quoted in Australian dollars.
Prices are the same for Xero and MYOB.

What is the free sync check?

Because you should know roughly what you are walking into before you spend an hour on a call. The audit gives you a fixed quote for your own business.
Is the audit price part of the build price?
Yes, if you sign a build within 30 days. The A$990 is credited in full.
What if the audit says there is nothing worth building?
Then the report says so, and it is yours to keep. I would rather tell you not to build than sell you something that does not pay back.
What is an acceptance criterion?
A written test we agree before the build starts. For example, ‘invoices with a mismatch appear in the exception queue’. The build is done when the criteria are met.
What if the build does not meet the criteria?
I fix it against the written criteria for 30 days after delivery.
Do I need a support plan?
No. Support plans are optional. They start at A$350 a month. They cover monitoring and fixes, and you can cancel with 30 days' notice. Improve and Partner include Care monitoring.
Who pays for software and AI usage?

What does a custom build cost?
